Static Moments Set in Motion: Photography of Vasiliy Baziuk
By Christine G. Adamo, Owner of WriteReviseEdit.com
As an art director, journalist and marketing consulting who’s lived/worked in N.Y., L.A. and other influential U.S. cities (as well as overseas), I’ve had the luxury of being exposed to the stirring, stunning and spectacular – and, more often, the mundane.
Typically, my clients want to dominate their marketplace. While they’re not always sure how to go about it, I am. Words and images which send a cohesive message are what they need to strike a deft chord and move consumers to action.
In short, they need to cut to the chase – quickly connect with their audiences. Their prior attempts to deliver relevant, fun and timely experiences (whether promoting ideas, concepts or consumer goods) often lack one key component: A compelling storyline.
And while every photographer has a story to tell, they don’t all do it well. In my view, less than 10% possess the passion, vision and technical skill required to conceive, create and deliver solutions which are truly in sync with their clients’ needs.
Vasiliy Baziuk’s work places him squarely among the Top 10%. His execution is impeccable. His energy? Infectious.
On top of that, he’s playful, communicative and thoughtful. He’s also blessed with an artistic bent that defies categorization. A penchant for creativity and composition help Vasiliy uncover fresh, new, bold perspectives which are born out of the connections he forges with his clients.
The result? Campaigns which engage, delight and entertain the senses. But, it’s his ability to infuse his images with motion (subtly or explicitly) which transforms this photographer’s 2-D work into something otherworldly. The stories he weaves into his images make viewers wish they were in on the secret.
In studio or on location, he highlights his subjects’ unique selling points to produce dynamic masterpieces of photography. From commercial work to corporate portraiture, he’s a master of intrigue who sets static moments into motion to pique interest.
This sampling only hints at the breadth of his photographic genius. Both enthralling and exciting, it’s rich in delightful surprises and demonstrates Vasiliy’s competency and capability to weave compelling, suspenseful and sensual tales.
Enjoy!
